Rezul News/10743911
Promotion follows Martinez's recognition as a Top 30 Mover & Shaker in Restaurant Marketing and Catering
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Rezul -- The Taco Spot is proud to announce the promotion of Raul Martinez from Director of Marketing & Business Development to Chief Marketing Officer. In a fitting coincidence, Martinez learned of his promotion on Taco Tuesday.
Jesus Ruiz, CEO and Co-Founder of The Taco Spot, expressed his excitement about the company's decision.
"When evaluating the role, we realized Raul already does all of these things, and his promotion is well deserved," Ruiz said.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Martinez will lead The Taco Spot's marketing strategy, business development, catering growth, strategic partnerships, brand positioning and market-expansion initiatives. He will also support franchisees and help develop systems that maintain consistency as the company enters new markets.

Matt Surma, COO and Director of Franchise Development, praised Martinez's transition from other industries into the restaurant and franchise space.
"Raul transitioned into this role with flair and enthusiasm, coming from a career that was centered around fitness and healthcare," Surma said. "While his speaking points are much different today, his ability to connect with others and continue raising the bar has only added to our growing team."
Martinez joined The Taco Spot in September 2024 with extensive experience in marketing, business development, sales, healthcare, fitness and organizational growth. Since then, he has helped strengthen the company's catering division, develop community and corporate partnerships, expand brand visibility and support multistate growth.
His promotion follows a year of significant industry recognition. In June, Martinez was honored in Boston as one of FastCasual.com's 2026 Top 30 Movers & Shakers in Restaurant Marketing. In October, he will also be recognized as a 2026 Top 30 Mover & Shaker in Catering during the Restaurant Catering Workshop in Arlington, Texas.
