CEO Tony Hakimian says Zhengxin Chicken Steak is just the start, with more new businesses coming to Property Ventures of Marin's 126,000-square-foot neighborhood center.
WEST COVINA, Calif. - Rezul -- Property Ventures of Marin Inc. announced today that Zhengxin Chicken Steak has opened at South Hills Plaza, the retail center on South Azusa Avenue in West Covina.
Zhengxin Chicken Steak is an international fast-casual chain known for its Taiwanese-style crispy chicken steaks. Its new West Covina location at 1430 S. Azusa Avenue is now serving customers daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant joins more than 35 businesses at the center, including Tokyo Central, Fitness 19, Taco Bell, Dunkin', FastSigns, Mathnasium of West Covina, Code Ninjas, and a USPS post office.
"South Hills Plaza is a center the community already relies on every day, and our goal is to keep it modern, useful, and a great place for West Covina families," said Mehrdad "Tony" Hakimian, CEO of Property Ventures of Marin. "Zhengxin Chicken Steak is a terrific addition, and it's just the start. We have more new businesses coming to the center in the near future, and we think the neighborhood is going to be excited about what's ahead."

With Zhengxin's opening, South Hills Plaza gives visitors even more reasons to make it a regular stop. In one trip, shoppers can pick up groceries at Tokyo Central, fit in a workout at Fitness 19, drop the kids at tutoring or coding class, take care of the family pet at South Hills Animal Hospital or Little Paws Pet Grooming, and grab dinner from a growing mix of restaurants that includes Dumpling House, Lan Noodle, and now Zhengxin Chicken Steak.
Property Ventures of Marin acquired South Hills Plaza in 2023. The center was originally built in 1982 and renovated in 2005. It serves shoppers across West Covina and the San Gabriel Valley.
