Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Four To OneStar National Service Commission

~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently announced the appointment of Casey Jimenez and the reappointment of Karin Morris, James Senegal, and Grace Yocum to the OneStar National Service Commission. These individuals will serve on the commission until March 15, 2029.

The OneStar National Service Commission is responsible for promoting volunteerism in Texas and overseeing the administration of AmeriCorps programs within the state. With their diverse backgrounds and experiences, Jimenez, Morris, Senegal, and Yocum are well-equipped to fulfill these duties.

Casey Jimenez hails from Missouri City and currently serves as the logistics and emergency management specialist for the City of Missouri City. He is also a delegate member of the Emergency Management Association of Texas and holds the position of President for the University of North Texas (UNT) Graduates of the Last Decade Alumni Network. Jimenez received his Bachelor of Science in Emergency Administration and Planning from UNT.

Karin Morris, a resident of Highland Village, brings a wealth of experience to the commission as she serves as senior vice president of community impact for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club. She also holds the position of executive director for the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation. In addition to her professional roles, Morris is an advisory board member for Women in Sports Entertainment and serves on various committees within her community. She received her Bachelor of Science in International Business from Marquette University.

James Senegal, who resides in Spring, is co-founder and lead instructor for ProResponder Training LLC. He is a member of several law enforcement associations including the Texas Police Chiefs Association and FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. Senegal received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University and is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing at Baylor University.

Lastly, Grace Yocum from Round Rock is an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University studying Business Management with a double minor in Nonprofit Studies and Public Policy Analysis. She is actively involved in various leadership roles on campus and currently works in the Office of Strategic Initiatives within the Office of the President at her university.

With their diverse backgrounds and dedication to service, these individuals are sure to make a positive impact on the OneStar National Service Commission and continue to promote volunteerism in Texas. Their terms will expire on March 15, 2029, and we look forward to seeing the great work they will accomplish during their time on the commission.
