~ In a move to boost economic growth and job creation in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has announced that USG Corporation's new production facility in Orange has been approved as a qualified project under the state's Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program. This expansion represents a significant investment of $1.175 billion over the course of the project and is expected to create nearly 200 jobs.
Governor Abbott expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating that "Texas is where businesses invest and grow for the future." He congratulated USG on their decision to expand their presence in Texas and praised their commitment to creating jobs for hardworking Texans. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with manufacturing leaders across various industries to build a stronger and more prosperous Texas.
USG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of building materials and innovative solutions for residential and non-residential repair and remodeling, chose Texas as the location for their new production facility due to the state's business-friendly environment and skilled manufacturing workforce. The company will be making an initial investment of $650 million in this facility.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Superintendent Stacey Brister welcomed USG to the community, highlighting the partnership between the company and the school district through the JETI program. This collaboration will not only bring new opportunities for students but also align educational programs with real-world workforce needs.
The JETI program was created by Governor Abbott following the 88th Regular Legislative Session to attract large, capital-intensive economic development projects that bring new investment and jobs to Texas while ensuring transparency and reporting. With USG's expansion in Orange, it is evident that this program is playing a crucial role in driving economic growth in the state.
