New Grants Bring Investments to Communities Across Boston

~ Boston Council Approves Grants to Support Arts, Culture, Seniors, Youth Services, and More
This week, the Boston Council has approved a series of grants that will bring significant investments into various programs across the city. These grants will support initiatives in areas such as arts and culture, seniors, youth services, public safety, workforce development, climate resilience, and economic opportunity.
The approved grants include a $305,600 grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to support innovative arts and humanities programming through the Office of Arts & Culture. This grant is part of the FY26 Local Cultural Council Program.
Another notable grant is the $250,000 awarded by the Boston Planning & Development Agency to support the Commercial Acquisition Assistance Program (CAAP) through the Office of Economic Opportunity & Inclusion. This grant is part of the 35-75 Morrissey Boulevard Mitigation Funds.

The Age Strong Commission will receive a federal grant of $194,388.28 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support nutritious meal delivery services for individuals aged 60 and older. This grant is part of the FY26 Nutrition Services Incentive Program.
In addition to these grants, there is also a $150,327.96 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to fund a Civilian Domestic Violence Advocate serving Jamaica Plain, East Boston, and Spanish-speaking victims citywide. This grant will also provide overtime support for advocates across Boston as part of the FY25 Violence Against Women Act STOP Grant.
Other grants include a $150,000 donation from Pilot House Philanthropy to provide flexible programmatic support for Boston Family Days through the Office of Arts & Culture; a $50,000 Creative Aging Program grant from Goddard House Assisted Living to support arts programming for older adults through the Age Strong Commission; and a $50,000 Roche Youth & Senior Programs grant from Donor Group to support programming through Boston Centers for Youth & Families.

The Council has also approved a $44,300 grant from the Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs to support outdoor water efficiency improvements, rain barrel distribution, and public engagement around drought management through the Office of Climate Resilience. Additionally, a $28,671.98 grant from MassHire Department of Career Services will support partnerships with local adult education programs and career pathway development for adult learners through the Office of Workforce Development.
Lastly, a $2,500 grant from Kids 360 Charity will support youth programs at the Roche Community Center through Boston Centers for Youth & Families as part of the Roche Kids 360 Grant.
These grants will not only expand programming but also strengthen community services and support residents across Boston. The targeted investments in critical local initiatives will have a positive impact on the city and its residents.
