CPPS Renews ASIS International Preferred CPE Provider Status

Rezul News/10749259
Security professionals holding ASIS certifications can earn pre-approved recertification credit through qualifying CPPS training.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Rezul -- The Center for Personal Protection and Safety (CPPS) has renewed its status as a Preferred Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Provider with ASIS International. The renewal takes effect November 30, 2026, and runs through November 30, 2027.

The ASIS Preferred CPE Provider Program pre-approves education offerings that align with the bodies of knowledge for ASIS's four board certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Physical Security Professional (PSP), and Associate Protection Professional (APP). Professionals who hold these certifications must earn CPE credits to recertify. Pre-approval means they know before they register that a qualifying course will count toward that requirement.

One qualifying offering is the CPPS Workplace Violence Instructor Certification (WVIC), a self-paced program that prepares participants to deliver workplace violence prevention training inside their own organizations. The course runs thirteen modules, about seven hours and 45 minutes in total, and awards seven CPE credits to individuals who hold an ASIS certification. Participants also receive training management materials, curriculum, and support from CPPS subject matter experts.

"We build our workplace violence prevention training to the ASIS standard for workplace violence and active assailant response. Renewing our Preferred CPE Provider status confirms that work meets the bar ASIS-certified professionals hold themselves to. It also means the time they spend training with us counts toward their recertification," said Korey Staley, Vice President of CPPS.
