CHICAGO ~ Chicago Mayor Launches Revamped Website to Improve City Services
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Technology and Innovation (DTI) have announced the launch of a new and improved Mayor's Office website. The revamped website aims to make information about the administration's work and city resources more accessible for Chicagoans.
According to Mayor Johnson, this launch is part of his broader effort to enhance the use of technology in serving residents. He believes that technology should make government more accessible and help residents better understand the work being done on their behalf.
"When we reimagined the Department of Technology and Innovation, it was about ensuring that City government has the necessary tools and expertise to serve residents effectively," said Mayor Johnson. "This update to the website is one part of our overarching effort to build a City government that works better, responds faster, and delivers for the people of Chicago."

The redesigned Mayor's Office webpage brings together key information about the Johnson administration in one place. This includes access to data, resources, initiatives, and executive actions organized into four priority areas: Making Chicago Safer, Making Chicago More Affordable, Protecting Chicago, and Investing in Our Communities.
Nick Lucius, DTI Commissioner and Chief Information Officer, stated that their goal is to make it easier for Chicagoans to find information and services from their city government. He also mentioned that this redesign reflects DTI's people-first approach with a focus on user experience and accessibility.
As part of this revamp, the homepage will feature a 2027 Budget Engagement Survey specifically for visitors to the Mayor's Office website. This survey provides an additional opportunity for Chicagoans to share their perspectives and priorities regarding the City's budget-making process. The first 200 residents who complete the survey will be entered into a lottery to win City of Chicago merchandise and a photo with Mayor Johnson.

The expansion of the Mayor's Office webpage is just one aspect of DTI's broader transformation of how the City utilizes technology and designs online services for residents. The department is taking a people-first approach, with a focus on making City information and services simpler, more accessible, and easier to use. They are also working to develop the necessary expertise within City government to continue improving these services over time.
To support this work, DTI has expanded its Digital and Web Services team to include positions dedicated to user experience and digital accessibility. The department is also collaborating with the Mayor's Office to establish a more consistent citywide approach to designing and improving online services based on residents' needs and experiences.
The Mayor's Office website can be accessed at Chicago.gov/MayorsOffice. With this revamped website, Mayor Johnson hopes to make it easier for Chicagoans to access important information and services from their city government.
