The Product BuzZ Addresses Business Separation and Methodology Similarities

Former collaborator Gina Bordeaux is now associated with The Beauty Briefing, prompting Asher to clarify the history and documented similarities between the two brands' product-evaluation approaches.
NORFOLK, Va. - Rezul -- A Business Relationship That Later Ended
Lacey Asher, founder of The Product BuzZ, is clarifying the history of a former business relationship with Gina Bordeaux and addressing documented similarities between The Product BuzZ and The Beauty Briefing.
Bordeaux was previously involved with The Product BuzZ and worked alongside Asher during an earlier stage of the company's development. The two later went their separate ways following what Asher describes as a serious conflict of interest involving business strategy, intellectual property, and the continued use of concepts and methodologies developed within The Product BuzZ.
"As a founder, I believe strongly in collaboration and giving credit where credit is due," said Asher. "But there comes a point where a business relationship has to end when there is a fundamental conflict of interest. Gina and I are no longer affiliated, and The Product BuzZ is an independent company with its own history, methodology, brand identity, and body of work."

Bordeaux is now publicly identified as Editor in Chief of The Beauty Briefing, where she is involved in editorial direction and product evaluation.
The Product BuzZ publicly documented its structured product-verdict framework on March 18, 2026, identifying three outcomes: Worth It, Good If, or Skip It! The framework was presented as an approach to evaluating products and helping consumers make more informed purchasing decisions.
The Beauty Briefing subsequently introduced its BB Method, describing an evaluation process involving factors including product formula, evidence, claims, shopper fit, value, and regulatory context. The Beauty Briefing publicly announced its BB Method and Worth It / Skip It verdict structure in August 2026.
Asher emphasizes that the issue is not simply that two businesses operate in the same industry. Rather, she believes the documented similarities in terminology, product-evaluation structure, and consumer-facing methodology warrant examination of the respective timelines and origins of those concepts.

"The issue isn't competition," said Asher. "I'm a business owner. I understand competition. The issue is the history, the timing, and the circumstances surrounding these similarities. I believe consumers and the business community deserve to understand that history accurately."
The Product BuzZ remains an independent brand. Following the end of the business relationship, Asher says the company's former website is no longer functioning as its independent web presence and currently redirects visitors to an Amazon storefront. The company is continuing to rebuild its independent digital presence under The Product BuzZ brand.
For current product offerings, The Product BuzZ can be found through its Amazon storefront.
