Texas: Governor Abbott Applauds Work Of National Border Patrol Council

~ At the National Border Patrol Council's (NBPC) 2026 Convention dinner, Governor Greg Abbott delivered a speech yesterday, commending the efforts of Border Patrol Agents in securing the border under the Trump Administration. The Governor expressed his appreciation for having a President who is enforcing federal laws and allowing the Border Patrol to fulfill its duties.
Governor Abbott highlighted the collaboration between federal counterparts and state agencies such as the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard in investigating, arresting, and removing individuals who are in the country illegally. He also emphasized that Texas is now working closely with Border Patrol more than ever before, resulting in the most secure border in history.

During his remarks, Governor Abbott thanked Border Patrol Agents for their unwavering determination in securing the southern border, seizing dangerous drugs, and protecting Texans. He acknowledged that due to the joint efforts of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, communities are now safer from violent criminals such as cartel members and human smugglers.
The Governor also praised the Trump Administration for putting an end to mass illegal immigration that had surged under previous Democrat leadership. He was joined by NBPC President Paul Perez and other border patrol officials at the event.
