New Poll Shows Chris Harden Leading John Cowan in Georgia's 11th Congressional District

Harden leads 42%-40% on initial ballot and moves to 45%-42% after voters receive additional candidate information
WOODSTOCK, Ga. - Rezul -- New districtwide polling Democratic congressional candidate Chris Harden receiving 42% support compared with 40% for Republican John Cowan in Georgia's 11th Congressional District. Sixteen percent of likely voters remain undecided.
After respondents received additional information about both candidates, Harden's support increased to 45%, compared with 42% for Cowan, while undecided voters dropped to 13%.
"These numbers reflect what we've been hearing across the district: voters are taking a serious look at this race and the choices in front of them," Harden said. "We're going to continue talking directly to families about lowering costs, making healthcare and housing more affordable, creating good-paying jobs and making Washington work for the people."
Harden Leads in Republican-Weighted Electorate
The survey was weighted to an electorate consisting of 45% Republicans, 33% Democrats and 22% Independents, representing a 12-point Republican party-identification advantage.

Republican representation was increased six percentage points and Democratic representation reduced four points during weighting to correct for possible questionnaire and sample bias. The resulting initial candidate ballot showed Harden at 42% and Cowan at 40%.
Independent voters were a notable component of the results. Among Independents surveyed, 49% supported Harden compared with 22% for Cowan.
"This campaign isn't about asking people to vote based solely on the letter beside someone's name," Harden said. "Democrats, Republicans and Independents are paying the same grocery bills, facing the same healthcare costs and wanting the same opportunities for their children. I'm asking voters to look at who will work for their families in Congress."
Significant Opportunity to Introduce the Candidates
With 16% initially undecided and portions of the electorate still unfamiliar with both candidates, the Harden campaign will continue its districtwide voter outreach and community engagement to increase familiarity ahead of the November 3 election.
