Movie Star & Character Look-Alike Contest at Raleighwood

RALEIGH, N.C. - Jan. 9, 2019 - Rezul -- Annual Search for the Stars -Search for Movie Star, Movie Character Look-Alikes for the 19^h Annual Academy Awards Gala

Raleighwood will present their 19^th annual Academy Awards Gala on Sunday February 24, 2019. Watch the Oscars on the 35 foot screen with other movie buffs. FREE Admission.  Lobby Doors open 6:45pm, Theater 7 pm.  The night Hollywood and Raleighwood Stars get to SHINE!

The search is on for "Stars" to attend as VIPs!  Each year, Raleighwood looks for people bearing a striking resemblance to a movie star (past or present) or a character from a movie.  Winners will be notified and invited to attend the event as an "A-List Guest", enjoy Movie Star VIP treatment, early admission, seating in our special VIP section along with some additional perks and goody bags.  Stars walk the red carpet, are photographed by "paparazzi," and pose for photos with fans.

The costume and look-alike contest Grand Prize packages worth at least $400 each for audience favorite and best dressed star or character include tickets to NC Symphony, NC Theatre, movie memorabilia, gift certificates and lots more. Even if you are not picked to attend as a VIP, everyone attending Raleighwood's Academy Awards night in costume can enter the contest and be eligible to win one of the great prize packages.

The night kicks off with a Wine Tasting in the lobby, photo opportunity with our "Movie Stars", including Star Wars characters (501st Carolina Garrison).

Come in your best "glam", in movie theme costume, dress up or come casual; the sky's the limit. Free drawings, Movie Trivia and Pick the Oscar Winners contests for a chance to win prizes including movie memorabilia, t-shirts, gift certificates and more from local area businesses.

Raleighwood, a first-run movie theater and restaurant all in one, will be showing the awards on the giant 35 foot screen. The regular menu of casual food, beer, wine and champagne will be available for purchase. A percent of proceeds is donated to Will Rogers Motion Pictures Pioneers Foundation.
