Rezul News/10631494
ESD 10 purchased properties at 310 Honea Egypt Road and 32707 FM 2978 in Magnolia for future fire stations. The future stations will meet the growing community's needs by shortening response times, improving station operations and living quarters.
MAGNOLIA, Texas - Rezul -- Montgomery County Emergency Services District Number 10 (ESD 10) closed on the purchase of two properties in Magnolia that will help the district meet growing needs of its community. Properties purchased are located at 310 Honea Egypt Road and 31353 Dobbin Huffsmith Road.
310 Honea Egypt Road will serve as the new home of Magnolia Fire Department Station 186, replacing the fire station located at 32707 FM 2978. The new Station 186 will be less than a mile from its current location. Construction of the station is expected to begin in 2024. The property is 2.685 acres and was purchased for $2.5 million.

The new station will be built to shorten response times, expand station operations, and improve safe living quarters for firefighters.
"We are excited to acquire this property as the ideal location for a larger, modern Station 186. This investment is one that promises better resources for our firefighters and improved emergency response for our community," said ESD 10 Board President, Larry Smith.
The 8.2-acre property at 31353 Dobbin Huffsmith Road was purchased by ESD 10 for $1.131 million. ESD 10 acquired the land to serve future residential and commercial growth expected in the area. The Dobbin Huffsmith Road site will add a new fire station for Magnolia Fire Department to respond to future emergency response needs.
A timeline for construction of the additional station has not been established.
"We have closely monitored growth in our community and identified a need for a future station in this area. This property presents an excellent opportunity to offer that service. The ESD 10 board will utilize this land to execute our mission of saving lives and protecting property," added Smith.
