Both events will include breakout discussions for residents to share concerns, ideas and successes and identify areas for improvement. The city said feedback from the sessions will help shape a community-driven public safety roadmap.

Guest speakers are expected to include Evansville Police Chief Philip Smith, Prosecutor Diana Moers, Magistrate Judge Celia Pauli, Sheriff Noah Robinson and Judge Gary Schutte.

"Public safety is a shared responsibility," Smith said in the announcement, adding that officials want to hear what residents are seeing and what they need from police.

Terry said the town halls are intended to expand opportunities for residents to connect with city government and discuss public safety strategies and ways to participate.
