~ Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has announced that the city, in collaboration with the Boston Host Committee for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, has successfully secured over 500 tickets and round trip transportation to the highly anticipated event for Boston residents. This exciting news was revealed by Mayor Wu just before the first World Cup match at Boston Stadium.
In her statement, Mayor Wu expressed her pride in partnering with private entities and individuals to ensure that the World Cup experience is not limited to just visitors, but also shared by the local community. She emphasized that this opportunity is more than just a free ticket, but a chance for Boston's youth and residents to create lasting memories. The mayor extended her gratitude to all the private partners who have come forward to make this possible for families in Boston.
To distribute these tickets, the City will be collaborating with various local organizations such as soccer clubs, youth-serving groups, and cultural associations. In addition to the ticket distribution, City Hall Plaza will serve as the central gathering place for soccer fans to celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The plaza will feature live match broadcasts and a Cultural Showcase highlighting local artists, musicians, and performers. This event, known as FIFA Fan Festival™ Boston, is free and open to the public. However, due to limited space, attendees must register for a pass in advance. It is important to note that registration does not guarantee entry if City Hall Plaza reaches its capacity on any given day.
