Governor Polis Tours AXIS International Academy's New Campus in Fort Collins, Celebrating Colorado Students and Educators

FORT COLLINS ~ Colorado Gov. Jared Polis visited AXIS International Academy's new permanent campus in Fort Collins ahead of its scheduled grand opening on Nov. 6, the governor's office said.
During the visit, Polis spoke with school leaders about language immersion, toured classrooms and recognized students, educators and community partners involved in establishing the campus.
AXIS is a free public charter school serving students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. It opened in 2019 and offers Spanish, French and Mandarin immersion alongside academic instruction and development of cross-cultural, social-emotional and cognitive skills.

AXIS received the Colorado Department of Education's Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award in 2023 and 2025. The award recognizes schools for exceptional student growth, according to the release.
