DENVER ~ At the ETHDenver Conference today, Governor Jared Polis, in collaboration with the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, made a significant announcement. The state of Colorado will be auctioning off 150 unique NFTs to celebrate its 150th birthday and showcase its thriving digital economy. The auction is set to go live on June 1st, 2026.
This initiative is part of a larger statewide celebration organized by The America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission, established by Governor Polis. The commission aims to encourage Coloradans from all corners of the state to participate in events commemorating America's 250th birthday and Colorado's 150th birthday.
During the announcement, Governor Polis expressed his excitement about this project, stating that "innovation is part of our code here in Colorado." He also highlighted the state's efforts in growing its digital ecosystem and attracting businesses, which has resulted in the creation of well-paying jobs and propelling Colorado into a new era of innovation. The governor believes that these NFTs will not only celebrate artists but also leave a digital legacy for future generations.

In addition to this announcement, Governor Polis also attended the Colorado Technology Association annual Tech Summit and APEX Awards. During the event, he presented the Bob Newman Lifetime Achievement Award to David Cohen and Seth Levine for their contributions to driving technological innovation in Colorado and inspiring future generations.
The proceeds from the NFT sales will be used for other commemorative efforts under America 250 - Colorado 150. This initiative not only celebrates milestones but also showcases Colorado's commitment to technological advancement and growth. With this auction, the state hopes to leave a lasting impact on both its citizens and visitors alike.
