Governor Abbott Announces SBA Assistance For South-Central Texas Communities Following Bexar County Severe Storms

Rezul News/10745533
~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott revealed that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved his request to include South-Central Texas communities in the federal disaster declaration for severe weather. This declaration comes after storms hit the region in August, causing significant damage.

The counties included in the federal declaration are Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina, and Wilson. With this approval from the SBA, Texans in these areas who were impacted by the severe storms will now have access to additional resources to aid in their recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude for this assistance, stating that it will provide critical support to homeowners, renters, and businesses as they work to overcome the damage caused by the storms. He also thanked both the SBA and the Texas Division of Emergency Management for their partnership and continued efforts to support affected communities.

The SBA has granted access to its Home Disaster Loans, Business Physical Disaster Loans, and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. These low-interest loans will be available to qualifying individuals and businesses in South-Central Texas who were affected by the severe storms in August.
