Rezul News/10744648
~ As part of the Texas Veterans Commission's (TVC) Grants Across Texas Tour, Governor Greg Abbott has announced that $1,700,000 in Funds for Veterans' Assistance (FVA) grants have been awarded to six organizations in the West Texas region. These grants, administered by TVC, will provide services to an estimated 1,800 local veterans.
Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices made by veterans and emphasized the importance of providing them with necessary services. He stated, "Texas honors the sacrifices made by veterans who selflessly answered the call to serve. These Fund for Veterans' Assistance grants will provide the brave men and women who served in our nation's military access to crucial services they need to thrive across West Texas. Our state will always support our veterans, their families, and their service to our state and country."
Chip Osborne, TVC Director of Veteran Services and Army veteran, also commended the grant recipients for their dedication to serving veterans. He said, "I want to sincerely thank each of our award recipients for serving our veterans. Your organizations are recognized for making a difference in the lives of those who served. El Paso and the West Texas region have a strong military community and are home to many veterans. It's great to see the community give back to those who served!"

In May of this year, TVC Commissioners approved 190 grants totaling more than $40.8 million to 160 organizations across Texas. These grants are expected to directly benefit over 125,600 veterans, their dependents, and surviving spouses throughout the state.
Since 2009, over $400 million in grant funding has been awarded through 1,790 FVA grants for various services such as emergency financial assistance, transportation, legal aid, family support services, and home modifications.
For veterans in need of assistance, the Grant Services Directory provides information on organizations that offer help in their area and how to contact them. The TVC remains committed to supporting veterans and their families through these grants and other resources.
