Georgia: Top State for Talent Award Winners Announced at Governor's Workforce Summit

ATLANTA ~ ### Georgia honors students, schools and employers at workforce summit
Georgia officials recognized students, schools, employers and education leaders at the fourth annual Governor's Workforce Summit, held last week in Atlanta.
The event, organized by Gov. Brian Kemp alongside state education and workforce agencies, drew more than 1,200 participants from business, education, government and workforce development. The summit focused on strengthening talent pipelines and connecting Georgians with career opportunities.
The 2026 Top State for Talent Awards honored achievements and partnerships across the state's education and workforce system. Recipients included Omari Hill of Liberty College & Career Academy, named Georgia College and Career Academy Student of the Year, and Sincere Shakur of Atlanta College and Career Academy, named Dual Enrollment Student of the Year.

Connor Wallace of Stephens County High School received the Work-Based Learning Student of the Year award, while Remington Pruitt of Vidalia City High School was named Youth Apprenticeship Program Completer of the Year.
Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. was recognized as Business Partner of the Year, and Catoosa From Here to Career Academy received the College and Career Academy of the Year award.
University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue received the inaugural Top State for Talent Award. The honor recognized his leadership in strengthening Georgia's education and workforce development system and expanding opportunities for residents.
Kemp said preparing workers for new jobs coming to Georgia is essential to maintaining the state's business standing. He said the Top State for Talent initiative supports that effort.
Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Greg Dozier said the honorees represent partnerships and opportunities helping prepare Georgians for current and future careers.
