Georgia: Gov. Kemp: Siemens Plans 1,400+ New Jobs in Jackson County
Rezul News/10742364
~ In a recent press release, Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that Siemens, a global technology company, will be making a significant investment in the state of Georgia. This decision is seen as a testament to the strong economic partnership between Georgia and Germany, with Siemens being a valued part of Georgia's business community for 140 years.
Siemens is known for its expertise in electrification, automation, and industrial software. Currently, the company employs over 1,700 people across two manufacturing facilities and six offices in Georgia. This includes their Peachtree Corners Electrical Products facility.
According to Barry Powell, North America President of Siemens' Electrical Products business unit, Georgia was the natural choice for their next manufacturing investment. The state offers a favorable business environment, access to a highly skilled workforce, and close proximity to their existing operations and supply chain network in the Southeast. Building this new facility will not only allow them to serve customers more efficiently but also expand their advanced manufacturing capacity in an area that already has many technicians, suppliers, and industry expertise.

The new facility will cover approximately 550,000 square feet and will be located at 580 Raco Parkway near Pendergrass pending final approvals. Construction is expected to begin in November of this year with plans to start hiring for engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing roles in 2027. Interested individuals can apply for jobs at www.siemens.com/en-us/company/jobs.
Chairman Marty Clark of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners expressed his excitement about Siemens' investment in their community. He believes that it will create high-quality jobs and contribute to the county's long-term goals of sustainable economic growth and increased prosperity for its residents.
The project was made possible through a partnership between the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) Global Commerce team and various local organizations such as the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce, Jackson County Industrial Development Authority, Georgia Power, and Georgia Quick Start. Assistant Director of Statewide Projects Elizabeth McLean represented GDEcD on this competitive project.

GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson also shared his enthusiasm for the investment, stating that Siemens has been a key partner in Georgia's advanced industries for many years. He mentioned a visit to Siemens' headquarters in Munich in 2025 as an important step in building a strong relationship with the company's leadership. Wilson looks forward to continuing this partnership as Siemens continues to innovate, invest, and grow in Georgia.
The new Siemens facility is expected to have a significant impact on the Pendergrass community and the surrounding area. With its advanced technology and high-quality jobs, it will not only benefit the local economy but also contribute to Georgia's position as a leader in economic development.
