Detour routes have been established and will be clearly marked for drivers during the closures. When sections are closed off, drivers are advised to follow posted detour signs which include using Hancock and Astrozon to get back onto South Academy when traveling from Astrozon to Hancock or Drennen Road.

Starting on Monday, January 26 at 6 a.m., there will be a new lane setup in place as traffic shifts between Hancock and Drennen with lanes being reduced and traffic being moved eastward while lanes between Hancock and Astrozon will also be reduced but traffic will move westward instead.

In addition, the slip ramps connecting Hancock Expressway to South Academy Boulevard will also be closed at 6 a.m. on Monday, January 26. Drivers are advised to use the signalized intersection to make right-hand turns during construction and to plan for minor delays. Signs in the area will be updated regularly to keep drivers informed.

Safety measures have been put in place for drivers during this project, including having two lanes open each way during rush hours, a speed limit of 35 mph in the construction zone, and allowing left turns where possible. Businesses along South Academy Boulevard will remain open with signs indicating any changes that may affect access. Pedestrian paths and bus stops may also be temporarily relocated during construction and work near driveways may occur at night.
