Colorado Springs: Dublin Boulevard to shift into final traffic configuration June 15
Rezul News/10736748
~ As the Dublin Boulevard Improvement Project nears its completion date of June 15, the project team has announced several temporary traffic changes and closures that will take place in early June near the Dublin Boulevard/Marksheffel Road intersection. These changes have been made in order to accelerate progress and minimize long-term disruptions.
The project team has adjusted their construction sequencing to ensure that major roadway work is completed as quickly as possible. By implementing these short-term changes, they hope to shift traffic into its final configuration sooner, ultimately reducing the overall construction timeline. The project is currently ahead of schedule.
Some of the upcoming traffic impacts include the full operation of the new Dublin Boulevard/Issaquah Drive traffic signal on June 7, with signal equipment testing taking place on June 3. Additionally, Mustang Rim Drive and VanWinkle Drive will transition to permanent right-in/right-out configurations overnight on June 7.
From June 7 at 9 p.m. until June 12 at 9 p.m., Dublin Boulevard will be closed between Issaquah Drive and Marksheffel Road. However, access to businesses will still be available via Issaquah Drive and from southbound Marksheffel Road to the parking lot north of Dublin Boulevard. Another closure will take place between Marksheffel Road and Vista del Pico Boulevard during the same time period.

For one weekend, from June 12-15, a temporary right-turn-only traffic pattern will be in place at the Marksheffel Road/Dublin Boulevard intersection. The project team will release more details closer to this change.
Throughout all of these closures and changes, access to businesses will be maintained for customers. By mid-June, it is expected that Dublin Boulevard traffic will shift into its final configuration with two lanes open in each direction from east of Mustang Rim Drive through the Marksheffel Road intersection.
However, it is important to note that all construction activities are weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change. The Dublin Boulevard Improvement Project, which spans from Fieler Drive to Marksheffel Road, will result in a two-lane road with shoulders and a raised median to match other sections of Dublin Boulevard. Other improvements include a ten-foot multi-use path on both sides of the street, trail connections along Sand Creek, and a new traffic signal at Issaquah Drive. Drainage upgrades such as storm sewer pipes, inlets, and water quality structures are also being implemented.
For more information on the project, visit ColoradoSprings.gov/Dublin. As always, the project team urges drivers to use caution and follow all posted signs and detours during this time of construction.
