City of Evansville to Host “Doing Business with the City” Event for Local Businesses

Evansville, Ind. ~ Evansville, Ind. - On June 2, 2026, the City of Evansville announced its upcoming event in partnership with the Southwest Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP). The "Doing Business with the City of Evansville" event aims to provide local businesses with valuable insight into city contracting processes and opportunities.

Scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the event will be held at the EWSU Sunrise Pump Station located at 1200 Waterworks Road. Small-to-medium-sized businesses are invited to attend and hear from city leaders, department representatives, and community partners through presentations focused on the city's purchasing and procurement processes.

Mayor Stephanie Terry expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating that it is about creating stronger connections between local businesses and city government. She also emphasized the importance of breaking down barriers that can make the procurement process feel difficult to navigate. "We want local businesses to understand the opportunities available, build relationships with city departments, and feel empowered to pursue work that helps move our community forward," said Mayor Terry.

After the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to network directly with buyers from various city departments as well as prime contractors and community resource partners. This networking session aims to facilitate connections between entrepreneurs and potential business opportunities within the city.

Dominic Poggi, Regional Director of Southwest Indiana SBDC, highlighted the significance of events like "Doing Business with the City" in supporting small businesses' growth and long-term vitality in Evansville. He stated that these events make government processes more accessible while connecting entrepreneurs with resources and relationships necessary for success.

The event is free to attend; however, registration is encouraged. Businesses are asked to limit attendance to two representatives per company. Interested parties can register or learn more by visiting the event registration page.
