City of Colorado Springs to observe Juneteenth on Friday, June 19

~ As the nation prepares to celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, the City of Colorado Springs has announced that several administrative and elected offices and agencies will be closed on Friday, June 19.
According to a press release from the city, the following facilities will be closed in observance of Juneteenth:
- City Administration Building
- City Clerk
- City Hall
- Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum (open regular hours on Saturday)
- Municipal Court
- Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Administrative Building
- Sales Tax Office
- Sports Office at Memorial Park
- Westside Community Center
- Deerfield Hills Community Center
- Evergreen and Fairview Cemeteries offices (gates open to visitors both days)
- Hillside Community Center
- Therapeutic Recreation Program
- Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site
- Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center (closed due to North Cheyenne Canon Road Closure)
- Sertich Ice Center (closed June 19 through July 12 for ice rebuild and facility maintenance)
However, some facilities will remain open for normal business hours unless otherwise noted. These include:

- Evergreen and Fairview cemeteries (gates open to visitors, offices closed)
- Garden of the Gods Park (open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
- Patty Jewett and Valley Hi golf courses (open normal hours 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting)
- Patty Jewett Bar & Grill (indoor dining open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
- Valley Hi Grill & Pub (indoor dining open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Pikes Peak – America's Mountain (open normal hours, weather permitting; traffic will be held at Mile 6 until 8:30 a.m. due to Pikes Peak International Hill Climb activities. Summit access begins at 8:30 a.m. There will be no shuttle sales on Saturday, June 20 due to setup for the race.)
- Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center (open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
