Update: Columbia Police arrest Columbia man on additional child pornography possession charges
Rezul News/10731714
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ On April 3, Columbia Police arrested 38-year-old Zachary Hutchinson of Columbia on 23 additional counts of possession of child pornography. This comes after his previous arrest on January 21, where he was charged with fourth-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, attempted enticement of a child, enabling sexual exploitation of a minor, furnishing pornographic material, second-degree promotion of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He was released from jail on February 4.
The initial report was made by patrol officers on January 15 after they were made aware of a potentially inappropriate relationship between Hutchinson and a female juvenile. The investigation was then taken over by the Criminal Investigations Division's Special Victims Unit.
At the time of the alleged incidents, Hutchinson was employed by Columbia Public Schools. However, the investigation revealed that he did not meet the victim through his employment and there were no known instances of contact on school property.
