Two-Story Shop Destroyed in Morning Fire North of Idaho Falls

~ Idaho Falls, ID - A two-story shop north of Idaho Falls was destroyed in a morning fire today, according to the Idaho Falls Fire Department. The incident occurred near 129th North and was reported at approximately 9:45 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the shop engulfed in flames. The building was equipped with a waste-oil fuel stove that had been in use earlier that morning. The shop manager suspects the stove may have been the cause of the fire.

Crews conducted a thorough search of the building and were able to access and extinguish the fire by pulling siding. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the shop and all its contents were deemed a complete loss, with an estimated monetary loss of $100,000.

Adjacent to the shop was another cinder-block structure which remained undamaged by the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department urges residents to exercise caution when using heating equipment and to regularly check for any potential hazards to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
