AUSTIN, Texas - Rezul -- Texas Pecan Cakes, the Austin-based small-batch bakery behind the 2017 H-E-B Quest for Texas Best award-winning pecan cake, has expanded its nationwide shipping program and established https://texaspecancakes.com as the premier online destination for authentic, handcrafted Texas pecan cakes.
The bakery produces its cakes in small batches using Texas-grown Pawnee and Cheyenne pecans sourced from Goldthwaite, Texas. Every cake is made with pure Grade A maple syrup, pure Mexican vanilla, Imperial Dark Brown Sugar, and unbleached flour — no hydrogenated oils, no high-fructose corn syrup, and no preservatives.
"We make one product, and we make it the right way," said Scott McGee, who acquired Texas Pecan Cakes with his wife Carrie in 2024. "The recipe that Lorraine McCoy built in Refugio is still the recipe we bake today."

Unlike most baked goods, Texas Pecan Cakes are shelf-stable for 21 days at room temperature. The cakes ship frozen, thaw cleanly, and hold their texture through transit. They can also be frozen for up to 12 months.
The bakery ships nationwide via UPS, FedEx, and USPS Priority in 1-3 business days from Austin. Orders over $50 qualify for free ground shipping.
Texas Pecan Cakes won the 2017 H-E-B Quest for Texas Best award in the Bakery category, placing first among 600 entrants. The recipe traces through four ownership groups — from Lorraine McCoy's Refugio kitchen to the current McGee family operation in Austin.
