Rezul News/10743514
~ In a recent press release, Governor Greg Abbott proudly announced Texas' continued success in job growth. According to the July labor market data released by the Texas Workforce Commission and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Texas gained 165,600 nonfarm jobs over the last 12 months, surpassing all other states in job gains.

Governor Abbott attributed this achievement to the hard work and dedication of Texans, stating that their efforts power America's most dynamic economy. He also highlighted the state's skilled workforce and business-friendly climate as key factors in attracting innovative job creators to invest in Texas.

The data showed that Texas outpaced the nation's annual job growth rate by a full percentage point, growing at 1.2% from July 2025 to July 2026. This brought the total number of nonfarm jobs in Texas to 14,468,000 and the total number of employed Texans (including self-employed individuals) to 15,207,200.

Furthermore, the state's labor force saw an increase of 17,800 people over the last 12-month period, bringing the total number to 15,915,600. The industries with the fastest growth rates during this time were Professional and Business Services, Leisure and Hospitality, and Construction. However, Government services saw a decline.

Under Governor Abbott's leadership, Texas has gained over 2.6 million jobs and is now home to 57 Fortune 500 headquarters as well as hundreds of publicly traded firms and more than 3.5 million small businesses. The state's economy has also expanded from being ranked as the 12th-largest in the world to now being ranked as the eighth-largest.

With these impressive numbers and continued growth in various industries, it is clear that Texas remains a leader in job creation and economic prosperity under Governor Abbott's leadership.
