Texas: Governor Abbott Reappoints Kinsey Chair Of State Board Of Education

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Aaron Kinsey as the Chair of the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) for another term. Kinsey, who currently serves as the SBOE District 15 Representative, will continue in his role until April 1, 2028.
Kinsey, a resident of Midland, brings a wealth of experience to his position. He is the CEO of American Patrols, Inc., an aviation services company. Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 2005 to 2014. During his nine years of service, he flew 120 combat missions in the C-130 and also taught pilot training and instructor pilot courses.
In addition to his role as Chair of the SBOE, Kinsey is also a member of the Committee on School Finance/Permanent School Fund. He has been serving as chair since 2023 and has been instrumental in shaping policies related to education funding in Texas.

Furthermore, Kinsey serves as chair of the Committee on Strategic Planning and Policy for the Permanent School Fund Corporation. This organization manages $60 billion in investments for the benefit of Texas education.
Kinsey's dedication to education extends beyond his role on the SBOE. He is a member of the Texas Public Policy Foundation Liberty Leadership Council and was previously a member of the Adam Smith Society Host Committee. He also served as a community group leader for Redeemer Midland Church.
Kinsey holds an impressive educational background with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
With his extensive experience and commitment to education, Kinsey's reappointment as Chair of the SBOE is sure to bring continued progress and success for Texas schools.
