Texas: Governor Abbott Names President, Appoints Three To Sabine River Authority Board Of Directors

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Cliff Todd as the new president of the Sabine River Authority Board of Directors. Along with this appointment, the governor has also reappointed Richard "Blair" Abney, Joshua A. "Josh" McAdams, and Kevin M. Williams to the board for terms to be determined by law.

The Sabine River Authority is responsible for managing and distributing storm and flood waters as well as the waters of the Sabine River and its tributaries. With this important role in mind, Governor Abbott has chosen individuals who possess a diverse range of skills and experience.

Cliff Todd, a resident of Long Branch, brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position. He currently manages his farm and ranch operations in Panola County and serves as an Executive Vice President for Topcat Companies in Longview. In addition, he is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and serves on the board of UT Health Carthage. Todd also dedicates his time to serving as a commissioner with the Panola County Emergency Services District and is involved in various community organizations such as Rotary Clubs in Austin and Carthage.

Richard "Blair" Abney, from Marshall, is an appraiser and owner of Abney Valuation Group, PLLC. He is also a member of the Appraisal Institute's National Government Relations Committee. Outside of his professional work, Abney volunteers for organizations such as Court Appointment Special Advocates (CASA) Tri-County Board and First Methodist Church – Marshall.

Joshua A. "Josh" McAdams hails from Center and brings with him extensive experience in business management. He is the owner of Midstream Transportation and vice president of McAdams Propane Company. McAdams is also actively involved in various industry associations such as Texas Propane Gas Association and National Propane Gas Association. In addition to his professional work, he is also dedicated to serving his community through organizations like the Shelby County Children's Advocacy Center and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Area Go Texan Committee.

Kevin M. Williams, a resident of Orange, is the owner of Cypress Bayou Industrial. He serves on the board of First Financial Bank and is a member of Rotary District and Associated Builders & Contractors. Williams also dedicates his time to community service through organizations like Faith United Methodist Church and Krewe De Bon Amis.

All four individuals bring unique perspectives and expertise to the Sabine River Authority Board of Directors. Their appointments demonstrate Governor Abbott's commitment to selecting highly qualified individuals who will effectively manage and preserve the vital water resources of Texas. Todd, Abney, McAdams, and Williams are all distinguished alumni from various universities including Stephen F. Austin State University, Baylor University, Texas A&M University (TAMU), and TAMU respectively.
