Texas: Governor Abbott Names President, Appoints Three To Angelina And Neches River Authority Board Of Directors

~ In a recent press release, Governor Greg Abbott announced the reappointment of three individuals to the Angelina and Neches River Authority Board of Directors. Jody Anderson, Kimberly "Kim" McRae Childs, Ph.D., and Thomas Murphy will continue to serve on the board until September 5, 2029.
In addition to their reappointments, Governor Abbott has also named Jody Anderson as the new president of the Board. The Angelina and Neches River Authority Board is responsible for overseeing the construction, maintenance, and operation of water resources in the valleys of the Neches River and its tributaries.
Jody Anderson, a resident of Lufkin, brings a wealth of experience to his role on the board. He is retired from his previous position as president and co-owner of Timberland Mobile Housing, LLC. Anderson has also served as president of the Texas Manufactured Housing Association and was a member of the National Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU).

Kimberly "Kim" McRae Childs, Ph.D., hailing from Nacogdoches, is currently the Dean of the College of Sciences and Mathematics at SFASU. She is an active member of various organizations such as the American Association of University Women and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Childs is also involved in her local community through her membership in University Women's Club and Nacogdoches Rotary Club. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Dallas Baptist University, a Master of Science in Mathematics from SFASU, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Mathematics Education from Texas A&M University.
Thomas Murphy, who resides in Crockett, brings his expertise in agriculture to his role on the board. He is retired from VHSC Cement and is an active member of the American Concrete Institute and the Associated General Contractors of America. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from SFASU.
With their diverse backgrounds and experience, Jody Anderson, Kimberly "Kim" McRae Childs, Ph.D., and Thomas Murphy are well-equipped to continue serving on the Angelina and Neches River Authority Board of Directors.
