Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Latest Slate Of Appointments

~ This week, Governor Greg Abbott announced his selection of several highly qualified individuals to serve on behalf of the people of Texas. These appointments were made to various committees and boards, with the goal of improving services and resources for Texans.
One of the appointments made by Governor Abbott was Sherri O' Daniel to the Early Childhood Intervention Advisory Committee. O' Daniel's term on the committee will expire on February 1, 2029. Along with O' Daniel, Dana Dodgen and Celina Perez were also appointed to the committee for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031. The committee's main responsibility is to advise the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) on the administration, supervision, and monitoring of early intervention services for infants and toddlers in Texas.

In addition to these appointments, Governor Abbott also selected Rusty Peterson to serve on the Governing Board of the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI). Peterson's term on the board will expire on January 31, 2027. TSBVI is a special public school that provides services for students who are blind, deaf-blind, or visually impaired. It also serves as a statewide resource for parents and professionals working with these children.
These appointments reflect Governor Abbott's commitment to improving services for Texans in need. By selecting highly qualified individuals like O' Daniel, Dodgen, Perez, and Peterson, he hopes to ensure that all Texans have access to necessary resources and support.
