Spokane: Flags Will Be Lowered for Former Legislator Mike Cooper

~ Spokane City Mayor Lisa Brown has issued a directive to lower flags at all City facilities to half-staff in honor of former Legislator Mike Cooper. This decision follows Governor Bob Ferguson's order for state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities to be lowered as well.

According to Erin Hut, the Communications Director for Spokane City, Cooper was a dedicated advocate for first responders and was also a firefighter himself. In light of his contributions and commitment to public service, Mayor Brown encourages individuals with flags outside their homes or businesses to join in honoring Cooper's life.

The flags will remain at half-staff until 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 26 or until the start of business on Monday, September 28. This gesture serves as a tribute to Cooper's legacy and his impact on the community.
