Spokane: Construction Will Impact South Stevens Street

Rezul News/10739526
~ Spokane, WA- Starting Monday, July 6, drivers in Spokane can expect delays and lane reductions on southbound Stevens Street between 3rd and 9th Avenues. According to Kirstin Davis, Communications Manager for the city, crews will begin work on a grind and overlay project that includes sewer and stormwater pipe replacement, ADA ramp improvements, and joint seal repair work on the 9th Avenue Bridge.

The project is expected to be completed by late August. In the meantime, drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow for extra time, and be alert for frequent traffic changes. The city has also advised drivers to consider alternative routes for southbound travel as significant slowdowns are expected starting at Sprague Avenue.

While access to businesses will be maintained during the construction period, the public is reminded to make an extra effort to support them. The current obstruction information impacting drivers in the city can be found on the construction webpage.

This project is necessary for the safety of both drivers and pedestrians. The city asks that everyone slows down while driving through the construction zone. By doing so, we can ensure a smooth and safe process for all involved. For any further updates or changes regarding this project, please visit the city's website or contact Kirstin Davis at 509.625.7773.
