Repurposed Motor Lodge becomes Retro-Cool '402 Hotel'

OMAHA, Neb. - Nov. 20, 2017 - Rezul -- Kansas City based GLI Hospitality has launched its fourth "Area Code" hotel, the 402 Hotel #thebigO in Omaha, NE.  GLI purchased the former motor lodge at 2211 Douglas Street in July of 2016 and recently completed a major overhaul of the property.

The 402 Hotel #thebigO is now open for business and leisure travelers that appreciate the value of a dollar!

The renovation of the decades-old motor lodge included constructing a new, larger lobby and the integration of a lobby 'bar' at the front desk to accommodate a GLI customer favorite – free evening beverages during the daily manager's reception.  The new, eclectic lobby décor blends modern and fun and features art from local artists alongside a new "back porch" game area.

In addition to the lobby renovation and improvements that brightened the building's exterior, the hotel's 60 guestrooms were updated with new paint, lighting, bedding, art, and carpet.  Corridor improvements include new carpet, lighting and painting.

"Omaha is the top feeder market for Kansas City and vice versa," said Doug Gamble, GLI Partner.  "Our Kansas City-Westport Hotel, the 816, was our first Area Code hotel and extensive cross marketing will occur between the properties/markets".

The 402 Hotel was the fourth hotel acquisition for GLI Hospitality.  GLI is building a regional collection of unique independent hotels using area codes as their branding.  The 816 Hotel (Kansas City-Westport), 913 Hotel (Overland Park, KS) the 316 Hotel (Downtown Wichita, KS), The 402 Zoo (Comfort Inn at Henry Doorly Zoo) and the 817 Hotel (next to ATT Stadium, Arlington, TX).
