NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ Naperville, Illinois - The City of Naperville's Transportation, Engineering, and Development Business (TED) Group is inviting residents to participate in two public input sessions on Thursday, June 4. These sessions will provide an opportunity for community members to share their preferences for streetscape elements that they would like to see included in the final design.
The public input sessions will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Meeting Rooms A&B in the Naperville Municipal Center located at 400 S. Eagle St. Attendees can expect to see proposed alternative exhibit boards and have the chance to speak with City staff and consultants about the project details, ask questions, and provide feedback. This open house-style event will not include any formal presentations.

The feedback collected during these sessions will be taken into consideration as the final streetscape design and construction documents are developed. The proposed third phase of the Downtown Streetscape project aims to rebuild Jefferson Avenue between Washington Street and Main Street, as well as Main Street between Jefferson Avenue and Van Buren Avenue.
The construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2027 and will include utility repairs and upgrades, modernization of the streetscape, complete road reconstruction, and pavement upgrades. The new design will also create more space for trees and open areas for businesses while improving pedestrian mobility and accessibility.
Residents who are unable to attend the public input sessions can still provide their feedback by emailing nicholsc@naperville.il.us until Friday, June 12. Project information and exhibit boards are also available on the City's website at www.naperville.il.us/dtprogress.
