TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Rezul -- Jodie Minor Meets Requirements to Qualify as an Independent Candidate for State Senate District 21

TUSCALOOSA, AL
– Jodie Minor, decorated Army veteran and former White House staffer, has met the requirements to qualify as an Independent candidate for Senate District 21.

Minor visited the State Capitol on multiple occasions and expressed his gratitude to the Secretary of State's Office for their assistance with the qualification requirements process.

"I am grateful to Secretary of State Wes Allen's office," said Minor. "I'm also very grateful to the residents of District 21 who signed the petition and for those who assisted with obtaining signatures."

As an Independent candidate, Minor will appear on the November 3rd General Election ballot. He moves forward without party affiliation, positioning himself as a people-first representative focused on the critical issues that have an impact on the daily lives of residents of Pickens and Tuscaloosa counties.

"Feedback from District 21 voters is that we are tired of the politicians prioritizing partisan gamesmanship for their personal gain while, we, everyday Alabamians live with the present realities of higher costs of electric bills, food, fuel and the evaporation of basic healthcare access. These concerns transcend either party, they are not left or right.  With an increasing urgency, the majority of District 21 residents that I speak to daily are ready for a servant leader with great vision; a leader with a high reverence for moral and ethical values," Minor said.

Minor brings a blend of military and federal government experience to the ballot. He served as a Congressional Fellow for Congressman Robert Aderholt, U.S. Representative for Alabama's 4th Congressional District, served on Army Staff at the Pentagon and served on the White House National Security Council under both the Biden and Trump administrations.

His campaign platform focuses on "2 Ts: Truth and Trust."

"My core values compel me to always be truthful, and truth breeds trust which is the bedrock for a thriving society," Minor added.

"I have served our country on the battlefield in Iraq for over two years.  I have also served at the highest levels of government in Washington, D.C. I am back home to serve the people of West Alabama with the same integrity, the same selfless service, and with the same genuine concern for others that guided me during my 20 plus years in the military and federal government," Minor said.

Minor is a native of Carrollton, Alabama. He also served as a Congressional Affairs Officer for Transportation Security Administration and is currently a Congregational Minister at the Pickens County Jail.
