~ Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Police Department has released its 2025 year-end crime statistics, revealing a decrease in violent crime and an increase in proactive enforcement and community engagement. According to the report, there was a reduction in violent crime and a decrease in dispatched calls for service, while proactive patrol efforts saw an increase.

The statistics also showed a decline in motor vehicle crimes such as stolen vehicle calls, vehicle burglaries, and theft of motor vehicle parts. This is a significant improvement from the previous year when the city saw an increase in traffic collisions.

In response to this issue, Mesa PD took action by significantly increasing proactive traffic enforcement. This led to a 22% increase in traffic citations and warnings issued in 2025.

Chief Dan Butler expressed his pride in the department's accomplishments, stating that "the City of Mesa experienced a notable reduction in violent crime while calls for service increased alongside continued population growth."
