Rezul News/10731828
~ Madison Parks has announced the highly anticipated date and new route for this year's Ride the Drive event. With the signature route along John Nolen Drive currently under construction, organizers have planned an exciting new route for participants to enjoy on Sunday, August 9 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
The new route spans nearly three miles and will feature three hubs filled with free activities for all ages. The first hub will be located at McPike Park on 202 S. Ingersoll Street, followed by Lakefront Porch Park on 201 S. Hancock Street, and finally the Capitol Square at the corner of W. Mifflin and N. Carroll streets.
Vendors and exhibitors are invited to register for the event, with opportunities available at all three hubs as well as businesses along the route such as Williamson Street, King Street, and the Capitol Square. This is a great opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services to a large audience.

To ensure a smooth and safe event, nearly 200 volunteers will be involved in various roles such as intersection guides, setup and cleanup crews, bike ambassadors, photographers, and more. The greatest need for volunteers is for intersection guides, with a time commitment of approximately two hours per volunteer. In return for their service, each volunteer will receive an RTD tee shirt. Those interested in volunteering can easily register online.
Ride the Drive was first introduced in 2009 as a one-day community event aimed at promoting healthy and active living while also highlighting Madison's commitment to environmental sustainability and social integration. This year's event is organized by the City of Madison Parks Division in partnership with various city agencies and local organizations.
