Lt. Governor Primavera Highlights Colorado's Innovative Aerospace Industry in Durango

DURANGO ~ Durango, Colorado - Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera visited Agile Space Industries' newly expanded facility in Durango today, showcasing the state's leading aerospace ecosystem and the crucial role of rural communities in boosting Colorado's competitiveness in the industry.
Agile Space Industries specializes in designing advanced chemical propulsion systems for spacecrafts to maneuver and operate in orbit. With its recent expansion, the company has doubled its Durango campus to a total of 40,000 square feet for both office and manufacturing space. The company currently employs 167 people across its operations, with 124 based in Durango alone. In the past year, Agile has added 77 new jobs across the company.
In her statement, Lt. Governor Primavera expressed her pride in Colorado's nation-leading aerospace ecosystem and commended Agile Space Industries as a prime example of how the industry reaches every corner of the state. She also highlighted the company's growth as a positive sign for both Durango and the entire state.

During her visit, Lt. Governor Primavera met with Agile's Chief Executive Officer Chris Pearson and Chief Commercial Officer Will Francis to tour the facility and get an up-close look at their propulsion hardware manufactured in Durango.
CEO Chris Pearson shared his excitement about Agile's expansion in their hometown, stating that it reflects both their team's hard work and the increasing demand for their propulsion technology. He also expressed his enthusiasm for creating more opportunities in Southwest Colorado while contributing to Colorado's position as a leader in aerospace.
Agile Space Industries has received support from the State through the Advanced Industries Accelerator (AIA) Program administered by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT). This includes two grants worth $250,000 each from AIA Early Stage Capital and Retention program awarded to them in 2017 and 2023.
Colorado is home to over 2,000 aerospace companies and boasts an innovative aerospace ecosystem. Under the Polis-Primavera administration, efforts have been made to ensure that the industry's growth reaches all corners of the state, from manufacturers on the Western Slope to suppliers on the Eastern Plains.
