KayeDinero's "Glizzy Glock" Isn't What You Think — It Started With Late-Night Hot Dogs
Rezul News/10746000
The Asheville producer turns late-night glizzys, dive-bar nights and South Slope energy into one of the most playful releases in her growing catalog.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Rezul -- The title "Glizzy Glock" sounds considerably more dangerous than the story behind it.
For Asheville-based artist and producer KayeDinero, the inspiration is much simpler:
late-night hot dogs and good times at The Barksdale.
The South Slope dive bar has become one of KayeDinero's favorite places to unwind, especially when the night ends with one of the bar's late-night "glizzys."
"I make a lot of music about technology, Detroit, spirituality and bigger ideas," KayeDinero said. "Sometimes the inspiration is also just me having a ridiculous amount of fun eating a hot dog after midnight."
Asheville After Dark
Since moving to Asheville, KayeDinero has increasingly turned real places and everyday experiences into music.
Her catalog includes "French Broad," "Haywood Road," "Hendersonville," "Barksdale," "BoomTown," "Nine Mile" and now "Glizzy Glock."
The new single captures a different side of Western North Carolina than the mountains and scenic imagery often associated with the region.

"There's daytime Asheville, and then there's Asheville after midnight," KayeDinero said. "The dive bars, the people you meet, the conversations, the food — that belongs in the story too."
The release is not an official collaboration with The Barksdale. It is simply another example of KayeDinero turning experiences from her adopted city into musical titles.
Serious Artist, Unserious Moment
"Glizzy Glock" arrives after a run that includes Human Error, Kulture Metrics, "Cass Tech," "Nine Mile" and "Pipeline Developer."
Outside music, KayeDinero works across software development, Python, financial-market technology, TradingView tools and aerial cinematography.
But she says not every record needs a thesis.
"I can write Python and build market indicators," she said. "I can also make a song because the glizzys were hitting. Both things can be true."
