Juneau: CBJ Seeks Proposals for Landscaping Services for Douglas Cemeteries

~ The City and Borough of Juneau Parks and Recreation Department has announced that they are seeking assistance from various organizations and individuals to provide landscaping and maintenance services for the historic cemeteries on Douglas Island. This call for help comes as several cemeteries near Lawson Creek, collectively known as the Douglas Cemetery, have become overgrown with dense vegetation due to lack of regular maintenance.

These cemeteries hold great significance to the Douglas community, both culturally and historically. However, due to limited funding, the CBJ is unable to provide these services directly. As a result, they are looking for community partners who are willing to take on this important stewardship role.
