Juneau: Candidate Filing for 2026 Municipal Election Between July 17 and 27

~ As the October 6, 2026 Regular Municipal Election for the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) approaches, candidates are reminded to file all necessary paperwork with the City Clerk's Office between July 17 at 8 a.m. and July 27 at 4:30 p.m.

The election will have several open seats available for filing, including one Assembly Areawide Seat, one Assembly District 1 Seat, one Assembly District 2 Seat, and two Board of Education Seats. These positions each have a three-year term.

To become a certified candidate, individuals must submit printed copies of completed documents to the City Clerk's Office at 155 Heritage Way. These documents include a Declaration of Candidacy, Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure, Nominating Petition with signatures from at least 25 registered Juneau voters, and an Acceptance of Nomination.

Both candidate filing packets contain all necessary forms and can be found on the Clerk's Elections website. They must be completed and delivered to the City Clerk's Office by the deadline.
