Rezul News/10719766
Boise, Idaho ~ Boise, Idaho - Governor Brad Little has announced that the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) has officially submitted the state's application for The Rural Health Transformation Program. This move puts Idaho on the list of states seeking up to $200 million annually for five years to radically transform healthcare in rural areas.

The Governor's Executive Order 2025-08, also known as the "Making Rural Idaho Healthy Again Act," was the driving force behind this collaborative effort. The order jumpstarted a task force made up of members from the executive and legislative branches, tribes, and stakeholders. Together, they identified specific needs that will be addressed with the new funding made available through the One Big Beautiful Bill.

In total, the State of Idaho is applying for $200 million per year for five years, which amounts to a total of $1 billion. This significant investment will go towards improving healthcare access, quality, and outcomes in rural areas not just in Idaho but across the country.
