Idaho Falls Zoo Invites Community to Annual Clean-up Day Ahead of Opening Season
Rezul News/10731663
~ Idaho Falls Zoo is gearing up for its annual Community Clean-up Day on Saturday, April 11, and is inviting volunteers of all ages to join in the effort. The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will help prepare the zoo for its upcoming opening season.
Individuals, families, schools, and volunteer groups are welcome to participate in the clean-up activities, which will include raking, cleaning, and general grounds maintenance. Check-in will be available between 9 a.m. and noon at the William J. Maeck Education Center near the zoo entrance.
According to Zoo Director David Pennock, the community's support has been crucial in making this event a success year after year. "Clean-up Day has become a wonderful tradition," he said. "The dedication our volunteers show makes a lasting impact on the zoo by creating a welcoming environment for our guests and providing the best possible care for our animals."

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own supplies such as work gloves, brooms, grass rakes, large shovels, and wheelbarrows if possible. They should also wear comfortable clothes suitable for outdoor work and be prepared to get a little dirty while helping out.
Before volunteering, each participant must complete and submit an individual City of Idaho Falls Volunteer Release of Liability form. These forms are required for every volunteer and cannot be shared. For volunteers under 18 years old, they must be part of a family or organized group with their form completed and signed by a legal guardian. Group leaders or supervisors must also remain with all youth participants while at the zoo.
The Idaho Falls Zoo is grateful for the continued support from the community and looks forward to another successful Clean-up Day this year. For any questions about the event, please contact the volunteer team at [insert contact information].
