~ Idaho Falls Power (IFP) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Youth Rally Scholarship program, continuing its commitment to invest in the next generation of community leaders. The announcement was made on February 18, 2026, by IFP's Interim General Manager Stephen Boorman.

This year, IFP will award 10 scholarships to eligible high school sophomores and juniors from the Idaho Falls area. Each selected student will receive a $500 college scholarship and a full sponsorship to attend the Idaho Community-Owned Utilities Association (ICUA) Youth Rally at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa.

According to Boorman, empowering the next generation of leaders is a top priority for IFP. As a community-owned utility, they recognize the importance of investing in today's youth for the future of reliable and affordable energy in Idaho Falls.

The weeklong ICUA Youth Rally brings together students from seven states - Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska - for an immersive leadership experience. The program includes team-building exercises, legislative tours, motivational speakers, and local excursions. Students develop skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, and perseverance while building lasting friendships.

Previous participant Anilyn Croft shared her experience at the ICUA Leadership camp saying it not only taught her how to lead but also connected her with peers who are passionate about their futures and communities. She also mentioned that through intentional conversations she learned how to connect with people beyond surface-level small talk and step confidently into leadership. Croft believes that this program creates the kind of young adults that Idaho needs.

At the end of the rally, participants are evaluated and may earn up to $600 in additional scholarships based on their growth and performance. The highest-scoring student will be selected to attend the National Youth Tour in Washington D.C. Additionally, one outstanding student from Idaho Falls will be invited back the following year and awarded the $500 Bobbi Wilhelm Memorial Scholarship.

IFP covers all expenses for the selected students to attend the ICUA Youth Rally. To be eligible, applicants must be current high school sophomores or juniors, and either the student, parent, or legal guardian must be an Idaho Falls Power utility customer.

Interested students can find applications on IFP's website, www.ifpower.org, and submit them by April 15, 2026. For more information, please contact Idaho Falls Power at (208) 612-8430.

This scholarship program is just one of the many ways IFP is committed to investing in the community's future leaders. In related news, IFP has also made announcements on January 23, December 04 and 23 of 2025, as well as November 14 and September 09 of 2025.
