Idaho Falls Firefighters Respond to Early Morning Residential Fire

~ Idaho Falls Firefighters responded to an early morning residential fire on E 25th Street today, after receiving a call at approximately 5:25 a.m. The Idaho Falls Fire Department arrived on the scene to find a house engulfed in flames, with smoke and fire coming from the garage.

According to witnesses, neighbors and a delivery person had noticed the fire and quickly alerted the family inside. They were able to help them evacuate the residence, with one neighbor even assisting a child out of the basement. The firefighters of Engine 4 immediately began attacking the fire in the garage upon arrival.

There were concerns that a family member may still be inside the residence, so firefighters entered with a hose line to extinguish the fire and conduct a search and rescue operation. However, it was confirmed that all family members had already evacuated safely.

As the fire progressed into the attic, Engine 6 arrived on scene and established a water supply for Engine 4. They also deployed an additional hose line to continue fighting the flames. Meanwhile, Engine 7 deployed a third hose line and conducted an exterior attack on the fire in the attic and along the garage wall.

After successfully extinguishing the fire, crews conducted overhaul and salvage operations to ensure that it was fully out and to protect any remaining belongings of the family. Idaho Falls Power and Intermountain Gas also responded to secure utilities at the residence.

Chaplains were called to assist with relocation for the affected family. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from this incident. The cause of this residential fire is still under investigation by authorities.
