Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the Lower Florida Keys Hospital District

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Peter Batty Sr. and reappointed Erica Sterling and Kathryn Ovide to the Lower Florida Keys Hospital District, according to an announcement from the governor's office.

Batty is president of SBX Commercial Real Estate LLC and director of community relations for the City of Key West Housing Authority. He was elected to the Key West Utility Board and is a member of the Key West Association of Realtors and Key West Rotary Club. He earned bachelor's degrees from Eastern Michigan University and St. Thomas University.

Ovide previously held customer service, executive department and human resources roles at the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority. She was a founding member of the Lower Keys Heart Council and has served as a Monroe Republican Party committee woman and marina manager at Sunset Marina. She attended the College of the Florida Keys.

Sterling is a partner at Spottswood, Spottswood, Spottswood, & Sterling, PLLC. She serves on the boards of the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority, Key West Chamber of Commerce, Monroe County Bar Association and Key West Yacht Club. She earned accounting degrees and a law degree from the University of Florida.
