~ In a momentous event, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas rang the Closing Bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today to mark the grand opening of NYSE Texas headquarters. The ceremony was held in celebration of Texas' position as the state with the most capital in the United States and its new role as home to capital markets.

During his speech, Governor Abbott expressed his pride in Texas' economic success and its future-proofing efforts to attract businesses. "We are future-proofing our state to ensure that we will be a long-lasting legacy for any business that wants to operate here," he stated.

The Governor also took the opportunity to honor the contributions of Texas business legends who have played a significant role in shaping the state's booming economy. With an economy ranking eighth-largest in the world, leading job creation, and consistently being named one of the best states for business, Texas has become a prime location for companies.

Joining Governor Abbott at the ceremony were Senator Bryan Hughes, Senator Tan Parker, Representative Angie Chen Button, Representative Morgan Meyer, NYSE President Lynn Martin, NYSE Texas President Bryan Daniel, and Intercontinental Exchange Chairman & CEO Jeff Sprecher.

NYSE Texas is a fully electronic equities exchange that is part of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE). The exchange officially began operations in 2025 and has now established its permanent headquarters at Dallas' historic Old Parkland campus.
