Governor Abbott Reappoints Three To Texas Public Finance Authority

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed three individuals to the Texas Public Finance Authority for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031. Lance Etcheverry, Shanda Perkins, and Ben Streusand will continue to serve on the Authority, which is responsible for issuing and selling bonds for designated state agencies in order to finance the acquisition or construction of buildings.

Lance Etcheverry, hailing from Athens, brings a wealth of experience to the Authority. He is the founder and managing partner of Flat Creek Capital Management, LP and previously served as Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase. Etcheverry is also actively involved in his community as a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and an alumnus of Leadership Dallas. He currently serves on the boards of Smart Flour Foods, SFS Fire Security Systems, Texas Injection Molding, Composite Forge, and the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman College Executive Board. Etcheverry holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from SMU and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.

Shanda Perkins, who resides in Burleson, brings her expertise in banking to the Authority. She currently serves as the mortgage claims manager for J Wales Enterprises, LLC and has over 22 years of experience as a banker and vice president. Perkins is also actively involved in her community as director of Johnson County Area Chamber Summit and a former member of the Hill College Advisory Council. She is an active member of Open Door Church of Burleson and has received certificates from Accelerated Banking Programs and Omega Financial Training. Perkins is also certified in Business, Personal, and Trust Accounts in Banking.

Ben Streusand from Spring brings his extensive knowledge in finance to the Authority. He currently serves as president of Remington Bridge Capital LLC and previously held positions as president of Home Loan Corporation and president of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association and the Houston Mortgage Bankers Association. Streusand is also a former Texas chair of the Americans for Prosperity Advisory Board and a member of the Prepaid Higher Education Tuition Board. He has also served as a board member for the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. Streusand holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from George Washington University.

With their diverse backgrounds and expertise, Etcheverry, Perkins, and Streusand will continue to play crucial roles in managing the finances of designated state agencies in Texas. Their reappointments by Governor Abbott demonstrate his confidence in their abilities to effectively serve on the Texas Public Finance Authority.
